Details

The Silmälasi Kukkaro wallet is made of unbleached cotton in a mini-Unikko pattern printed in Helsinki. The slim, rectangular wallet has a metal frame that is easy to open and close.

50% of the cotton used in this product is recycled.

Unikko was founded in 1964 by Maija Isola and has since become an international icon of print design. The founder of Marimekko, Armi Ratia, believed that it was not possible to faithfully reproduce the true essence of real flowers in prints, which is why floral prints were previously excluded from the Marimekko collections. Therefore, Maija Isola designed Unikko as an abstraction of a flower rather than a photorealistic rendering. Today, Unikko is a powerful symbol of joy and creativity, seamlessly integrated into Marimekko’s design identity.
